3. The Charity Navigator Blog published a piece entitled “Car Donations a Thing of the Past?” This piece discusses a newly passed governmental program created “to stimulate the sales of automobiles and encourage people to trade in their less fuel efficient vehicles.” This program offers people cash incentives for trading in their cars for more efficient vehicles. Although this program does encourage people to be more environmentally friendly, it is projected that this will decrease the number of charitable car donations.
