1. The Chronicle of Philanthropy published a piece entitled “After Surviving Tumor, Golf Star Starts Cancer Charity.” The piece is about Severiano Ballesteros, a Spanish golfer. He recently survived a surgical procedure that removed a cancerous brain tumor. After his experience he founded a new cancer foundation. 

2. Take Part made mention to Beyonce’s recent public service announcement for the Feeding America‘s Helping Hand Campaign. 

3. Tactical Philanthropy made mention to an article published by the Boston Globe entitled “For Philanthropy Courses, Students Become the Givers.” This article explains that many New England colleges are now offering classes concerning the topic of philanthropy. Such colleges include Brandeis, Holy Cross, Boston College, Wheelock, and Lesley.

4. The Non-Profit Tech Blog posted a piece entitled “Why Your Nonprofit’s Volunteer Base Should Blog For Your Nonprofit.” This piece explains that if a nonprofit organization allows their followers to blog on their site, the site is more likely to be visited on a daily basis by supporters.

5. The Fabulous Giver announced that the Banana Republic on 744 N. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL, will be hosting an event to benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Shoppers will receive 25% off their purchases and 5% will be donated to the AIDS Foundation. The event will be held on July 7th from 7-9 pm.
