Video: Senator Dodd announces AmeriCorps Act of 2008

Posted by Zach Maurin on May 16, 2008

I was in the Capitol building today with the National Service community to hear Senator Dodd’s announcement to strengthen this country’s commitment service. This is also co-sponsored by Senator Thad Cochran (R-MI). The video is a little shaky, but if you’ve seen my other work (as in my sideways videos) this is a big improvement. To read more about the AmeriCorps Act of 2008 click here.

Part 1: Senator Dodd reflects on his decision to serve in the Peace Corps — which he credits for changing his life.

Part 2: Dodd discusses some of the legislation (raising the Segal Education award, for example) and even finds time to crack a joke!
