Obama sponsors food drive at rally with Oprah in Manchester, NH
Posted by aaronjmarquez on December 9, 2007

In an e-mail from today from the Obama campaign, individuals are being asked to bring 2 canned goods with them to Sunday’s rally with Oprah Winfrey in Manchester, NH.
Also, we are holding a canned goods drive to benefit New Horizons for New Hampshire in front of the Verizon Wireless Arena during Sunday’s rally.
We ask everyone to join us in helping out those in need during this holiday season. We encourage guests to bring at least two canned or non-perishable food items to the rally on Sunday. This is a tremendous opportunity to make a difference in the community.
With all 12,000 tickets to the event already spoken for, it will be exciting to see how much food is collected. U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) served at New Horizons the day before Thanksgiving along with staff from his New Hampshire campaign and members of the Manchester West High School Student Council.
On Wednesday, Obama announced his National Service plan, which would expand AmeriCorps from 70,000 to 250,000 members and double the Peace Corps by its 50th anniversary in 2010.
